Zwolle International rounds off with fantastic winners

The thirteenth edition of Zwolle International has come to an end: the motto ‘stallions, sport and breeding’ took precedent for five whole days in the IJsselhallen. In the first three days, the field of participants comprised of licensed show jumping stallions who provided fantastic sport with, as the the high point, four thrilling finals.

The champions in the various show jumping classes were Obelix Z, sire: Ogano Sitte (Future Stallion), Utah, sire: Guidam (Young Stallion), BMC Chiquitin La Silla, sire: Chin Chin (De Peperbus Promising Stallion) and Concept 2, sire: Concerto II (Stad Zwolle Best Stallion). After an exciting barrage, the winner of the Grand Prix of the City of Zwolle went to the German Torben Köhlbrandt with Concept 2.

In the weekend, there was an unusually high standard of dressage to be seen. One of the top horses of Zwolle International was Aachen (v. Appregio). He became under Imke Schellekens-Bartels undisputed Future Stallion of 2007. Edward Gal clocked up a great deal of success, amongst which was the winning of the title Young Stallion with the stallion IPS United (v. Krack C). The title Schoonmaakbedrijf Kalshoven Promising Stallion was won by Floresco (v. Florestan I). Ridden by Patrick Kittel from Sweden. The title Stad Zwolle Best Stallion went again extremely deservedly to G4S Gribaldi with Edward Gal who produced a marvellous trial.

As well as the stallion competition, the Paardenkrant Progeny Championships on the Friday was also a big success. The 1.10/1.20m show jumping section was won by the team of progeny from No Limit, whilst in the highest section (1.30-1.35m) it was the Animo’s who took the first place in style.
